The Sia Foundation's global grants program accelerates Sia's vision of decentralized storage by empowering the open-source community through funding research, development, tooling, and other projects that grow and strengthen the ecosystem.
The Grants Committee, composed of Sia co-founders, executives, and community contributors, convenes every two weeks to review proposals, evaluating them based on mission alignment with user-owned data, proposal organization and clarity, potential impact on the decentralized storage sector and Sia community, technical feasibility, team capabilities, and budget justification.
The program offers different grant sizes with guidelines to help applicants determine appropriate funding levels, and encourages projects that address recognized needs in the developer or user community, with particular interest in tools like benchmarking systems to measure host performance and monitoring tools that track node status and send automatic alerts when hosts go offline.
