Akropolis is rebranding as Kaon. Over the years, the project has worked to advance the boundaries of crypto and DeFi, and this rebrand reflects a continued commitment to that mission. As Kaon, the focus is on building a secure, programmable Bitcoin L1 with EVM interoperability. Kaon is a Bitcoin infrastructure layer designed to unlock Bitcoin-based capital markets by enabling native programmability for Bitcoin. This allows for interoperability, composability, and scalability directly on Bitcoin's UTXO model and security architecture, eliminating the risks of traditional bridges and oracles. Kaon's first cross-chain implementation will be with the EVM, maintaining Bitcoin's native UTXO architecture while allowing developers to build dApps using familiar Ethereum tools.Grant Funding
