Astar Network

Astar Network

Astar Network is a multi-chain smart contract platform on Polkadot, supporting both Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and WebAssembly (WASM) to enable the development of scalable and interoperable decentralized applications (dApps). It features a unique dApp Staking mechanism allowing users to support developers by staking tokens on their projects. The network is part of a collective effort to drive web3 adoption, spearheaded by the Web3 company Startale.

Description

Astar Network provides a scalable and interoperable infrastructure for Web3.0. Built on Polkadot, it supports both EVM and WASM smart contracts, allowing developers to deploy existing Solidity contracts and new applications. Astar aims to be a multi-chain smart contract hub within the Polkadot ecosystem. A key feature is its dApp Staking mechanism, which incentivizes developers by allowing users to stake tokens on their favorite dApps, earning rewards for both parties. The Astar Collective, which includes the development company Startale, is working to accelerate web3 adoption by bridging the Astar Network (a Layer-1 on Polkadot) with Superchain ecosystems, starting with Soneium (a Layer-2 on Ethereum). This strategy enables interoperability, decentralized governance, and broad token utility across both enterprise and consumer applications.
