Initially launched in 2018 as a middleware project, Bifrost has evolved into a comprehensive multichain ecosystem centered around its mainnet, the Bifrost Network, which went live in January 2023. The Bifrost Foundation, a decentralized entity, guides the project, which is operated solely by its community governance. The platform aims to simplify the Web3 experience and make blockchain technology more accessible to both individuals and institutions. Its core offerings include an EVM-compatible network for DApp development, multichain swap technology called Chainrunner, and staking services with its native BFC token to secure the network.
