BitClout

BitClout

BitClout was the first crypto social network, created to experiment with the DeSo Blockchain. It is no longer the primary application, with the project now recommending users switch to other apps built on DeSo, such as Diamond App, a decentralized social media platform with crypto-native features like NFTs and creator coins.

Description

BitClout was the first crypto social network, created as an experiment on the DeSo (Decentralized Social) Blockchain, a custom layer-1 protocol built specifically for decentralizing social networks. Since its inception, over 200 new applications have been built on DeSo, and the project now recommends using Diamond App, a decentralized, open-source web3 Twitter alternative. Diamond offers a user experience similar to traditional social networks but is distinguished by its integration of crypto-native features, such as the ability to mint, buy, and sell NFTs directly within posts, and the use of creator coins for users to financially support and invest in creators. The content on the platform is heavily focused on the crypto and Web3 space, with discussions revolving around various cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and the concept of decentralized social finance (SocialFi).
