Bolt Card is a project that has developed the world's first DIY self-sovereign debit card for Bitcoin payments over the Lightning Network. This open-source, worldwide, and permission-free technology allows users to make contactless payments. The system offers several setup options, including a standalone Boltcard Service, an LNBits extension, or a Bolt Card Hub with a wallet app, catering to different technical skill levels. Users can program their own cards using an Android app. The card is designed for fast, self-sovereign payments, enabling users to set personal payment rules on a per-transaction or daily basis. It is compatible with various wallets and Point of Sale (POS) apps that support the Lightning Network, such as LifPay, Swiss Bitcoin Pay, and Wallet of Satoshi.
