Bridge Bank was founded in 2001 by a group of entrepreneurial bankers as a nimble Silicon Valley startup, originally catering to high-growth innovation, tech and life sciences companies, founders and venture capital funds. In 2015, Western Alliance acquired Bridge Bank as a key division of the bank focused on commercial, tech and innovation banking. In late 2025, Bridge Bank unified under the Western Alliance Bank brand, along with five other divisions, and is now known as the Innovation Banking Group of Western Alliance Bank. The group continues its specialized approach of providing debt and credit products, treasury management, global markets services and venture debt to innovation, startup, life sciences and fund banking clients, serving offices in key innovation hubs across the U.S. including the Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, Denver, Austin, Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta.
