Description
BTCFi is a decentralized finance platform positioned as a staking-alternative service for Bitcoin holders, enabling them to generate revenue from BTC beyond simply holding it. Users can stake BTC from various networks as collateral via Bifrost Crosschain technology, and mint BtcUSD, a stablecoin backed by Bitcoin that aims to offer a stronger peg and lower liquidation risk than other crypto-collateralized stablecoins. BtcUSD can be deposited into pools like BiFi or Everdex for yield, traded for other assets including leveraged BTC trading, or used elsewhere within and outside the Bifrost Network ecosystem. The platform is fully decentralized and non-custodial, with all user-asset actions executed via smart contracts rather than a centralized entity. BTCFi is built by the team behind Bifrost Network and BiFi, with security backed by audits from Theori, and its roadmap includes integrating DeFi components across WBTC (ETH, Polygon, Arbitrum) and BTCB (BNB), launching automatic one-click BTC staking, and supporting native BTC deposits verified by Bifrost's node validators. Its primary users are Bitcoin holders across multiple blockchain networks seeking DeFi yield opportunities without giving up custody of their assets.
