Description

Bye Bye Plastic is a Foundation dedicated to eliminating single-use plastics within the music industry, leveraging the reach and cultural power of music to create ripple effects of positive environmental impact. The organization activates three groups: artists and DJs who initiate the movement, industry professionals who facilitate sustainable solutions, and the wider community who help feed the movement through grassroots involvement. Its initiatives include the Eco-Rider (used by more than 1,500 artists to request plastic-free conditions at events), a Resource Hub and events calendar, and 'Clean the Beat,' a music-powered cleanup campaign bringing together artists, fans, and local communities to turn festival energy into environmental action. It has also partnered with Evolution Music and Deep Grooves to produce the world's first PHA Vinyl, a biodegradable bioplastic vinyl record pressed at an eco-friendly pressing plant. The organization partners with sustainability-focused brands and encourages supporters to start their own fundraisers via Facebook, Instagram, or Tiltify for parties, live streams, and events.
