cadCAD is a Python-based modeling framework for research, validation, and computer-aided design of complex systems, supporting both Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) and System Dynamics (SD) approaches for stochastic dynamical systems and differential games. It natively supports Monte Carlo simulations to handle uncertainty, A/B testing to compare policy and agent behavior assumptions, and parameter sweeping to optimize system design. It is used by decision-makers and researchers to answer 'what if' questions about complex systems before deploying policies or mechanisms in the real world. cadCAD was created as an internal tool at BlockScience, an engineering, R&D and analytics firm specializing in complex systems design and validation, and has since been open-sourced to become a community-driven project supported through channels like Telegram, Discord, Discourse, and Twitter, as well as donations via OpenCollective and crypto.
