Chainlink Automation lets developers register Upkeeps for time-based, event-based, or custom-logic execution. Automation nodes perform offchain checks and submit verifiable onchain transactions through Chainlink registry contracts. It launched publicly on Ethereum mainnet in 2021 and later supported multiple EVM networks. As of 2026-08-31, Chainlink’s official materials state that Automation v1.x and v2.1 have sunset and direct users to migrate to the Chainlink Runtime Environment.Category: Developer Tooling
