Chainpoint is an open standard for creating cryptographic timestamp proofs for data, files, and processes. It anchors data hashes to blockchains, including Bitcoin, so users can verify data integrity and existence without a trusted third party.

Description

Chainpoint provides an open proof standard and node-based infrastructure for anchoring hashes of data to blockchains. Chainpoint Nodes aggregate submitted hashes into Merkle trees and publish their roots in blockchain transactions, producing independently verifiable timestamp proofs. It also provides a Node HTTP API, a JavaScript client, proof specifications, and command-line and JavaScript-based proof-verification tools for developers and applications needing tamper-evident data proofs.
