Chronicle Protocol provides cost-efficient, verifiable, and decentralized blockchain oracles. It aims to solve issues of scalability, transparency, and implementation difficulty in traditional oracles by using a next-generation cryptographic primitive called Scribe. The protocol is blockchain-agnostic and is powered by a community of validator node operators including MakerDAO, Etherscan, and Gnosis.

Description

The Chronicle Protocol is a decentralized system that transmits data through various off and on-chain peer-to-peer (P2P) channels, ensuring continuity even with multiple Feeds & Relays, provided a quorum is maintained. It incorporates fraud proofs to automatically ban malicious Feeds. Central to the protocol is its verifiability feature, allowing every data element to be tracked intuitively and provably from end to end, establishing a high-integrity, censorship-resistant layer for data transmission. Additionally, the protocol is supported by a community-powered consensus network of 22 Feed node operators, including notable entities like Infura, Etherscan, Gnosis, Gitcoin, Argent, MakerDAO, and dYdX.
