Core is an EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain that combines Bitcoin's proof-of-work security with delegated proof-of-stake through Satoshi Plus consensus. Bitcoin miners delegate hash power to Core validators, Bitcoin holders timelock BTC to earn CORE rewards without surrendering custody, and CORE stakers delegate tokens to validators. The network supports smart contracts, a growing Bitcoin DeFi ecosystem, liquid staking through stCORE and lstBTC, and a block explorer. CORE is the native utility and governance token with a fixed maximum supply of 2.1 billion.
