Creative Destruction Lab is a nonprofit organization that runs an objectives-based program designed to help massively scalable, seed-stage, science- and technology-based companies grow. Founders in the program are paired with experienced mentors who have themselves built and scaled businesses, providing guidance across 23 distinct streams including Advanced Therapies, AgriFood, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Cancer, Climate, Computational Health, Compute, Digital Society, Energy, Health, Healthcare Robotics, Manufacturing, Minerals, Neuro, Next Gen Computing, Oceans, Quantum, Risk, Space, Supply Chain, and Web3. Founded in 2012 at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, CDL now operates across 17 locations globally, including five sites in Canada, three in the United States, six in Europe, one in Australia, and one in Asia, such as the newly launched CDL-Cleveland (anchored to a health system in partnership with University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University) and CDL-Doha (funded by the Qatar Investment Authority and Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation Council). Its typical clients/participants are early-stage founders of science- and technology-based startups seeking mentorship, network access, and support to scale massively.
