Description

DataUnion Foundation is a distributed and decentralised team building a new data economy through collaborative Data Unions. Originating from a hackathon project, they developed a platform for proof-of-concept data unions, such as one for training an AI to pick up litter. They enable global contributors to upload, annotate, and verify data for various missions, focusing on data enrichment and AI to address real-world problems. Their goal is to bring sovereignty to data and create positive impact. The foundation started as a hackathon project and has evolved into a self-funded platform and a soon-to-be collaborative protocol. Their pilot project, Planet Computer Vision, has grown to over 600 global contributors. The team is distributed and decentralized, with 21 members from around the world working together on this new data economy.
