DeSci Africa is a community organization on a mission to support scientists in Africa through Decentralized Science (DeSci). It builds awareness and adoption of decentralized scientific practices across the continent by creating educational content, hosting community events, and connecting African scientists and enthusiasts with the global DeSci ecosystem.

DeSci Africa is dedicated to empowering scientists in Africa through the principles of Decentralized Science, addressing the barrier of limited access to resources, scientists, and laboratories on the continent. The organization creates and curates high-quality, accessible educational content explaining the benefits of decentralized science and its applications across various fields. It also actively participates in conferences and events—such as DeSci London, DeSci Summit, DeSci Boston, and the Vitalia pop-up city—to spread awareness of Decentralized Science. Its long-term vision is to establish a vibrant network of DeSci meetups and conferences across Africa, providing a platform for scientists and enthusiasts, both on the continent and in the diaspora, to connect, learn, and collaborate. The community is open to scientists based in Africa or in the diaspora who are passionate about making a difference through decentralized science.Grant Funding
