Distributed Crafts is a blockchain technology company founded by ex-Imperial College London PhDs, active since 2015, focused on advancing Bitcoin and the broader blockchain ecosystem. The company operates as a 100% remote, globally distributed team (Europe, North America, and Asia) and is dedicated to rigorous research and open source development around Bitcoin, cross-chain interoperability, security, and crypto-economics, publishing work such as studies on BitVM, stablecoin economic foundations, and cross-ledger communication in collaboration with institutions like Cornell University, Imperial College London, UCL, IOHK, EPFL, TU Vienna, University of Athens, and University of Edinburgh. Beyond research, Distributed Crafts contributes to Bitcoin-related ecosystem projects, including BOB ("Build on Bitcoin"), a hybrid Layer-2 combining Bitcoin security with Ethereum's EVM ecosystem, and Interlay, a modular programmable layer unlocking decentralized financial use cases for BTC.
