DWeb Camp is a community-driven gathering dedicated to building the decentralized web (DWeb) — technology that is private, resilient, and beyond the control of centralized powers. Organized under DWeb, an independent project founded by the nonprofit Internet Archive, the camp has run since 2019 (with the broader DWeb movement active since 2016), convening thousands of builders, researchers, activists, artists, educators, and families to collaborate on tools addressing censorship resistance, identity for the stateless, and data sovereignty. DWeb Camp 2026: Root Systems takes place July 8-12, 2026 at Alte Hölle, a forest venue near Berlin, Germany, marking the event's move from its longtime home in Northern California. The organization also supports a broader network of self-governed local DWeb nodes around the world (from Vancouver to Berlin to São Paolo to San Francisco) and invites participants and supporters to endorse its guiding principles and contribute donations to help diversify attendance.
