Description
Eigen Network is building a general-purpose zkVM with native support for fully onchain computation on its modular proof system. Their technology aims to make zero-knowledge more accessible by proving general-purpose programs via RISCV microarchitecture. They are also developing a Type 0 zkEVM on RETH and REVM to create an efficient execution layer and a highly customized sequencer layer. Key features include gas savings through a universal proof aggregator and a distributed proof market, and a modular proof system with the first Rust eSTARK and a zkVM supporting both BLS12381 and BN254 onchain verifiers. Use cases include a zkEVM for Cardano, a self-custodial private transaction layer for EVM-compatible blockchains (ZK Asset), and privacy-preserving computation over data (ZK KYC).
