Description

Filecoin Beam positions itself as the incentivized data delivery layer for the Filecoin network, built as a Filecoin project supported by Protocol Labs and presented as a Space Meridian project. For clients, it offers a single URL to access all PDP content via filbeam.io, consumer-grade global retrieval speed, and always-on reliability where cached data remains available even if Service Providers go offline temporarily. For Storage Providers, it offers protection from DDoS attacks, scraping, and bad traffic, along with the ability to earn rewards for serving data through a trustless, paid-per-byte model for storage and retrieval. All retrieval data is submitted on-chain to support network health, allowing clients to make informed decisions about which providers to work with. Its roadmap includes launching on Filecoin Mainnet, metered egress pricing, IPFS interoperability, x402 implementation, access control, erasure coding reconstruction, and a dedicated Filecoin Beam node offering, as part of the broader Filecoin Onchain Cloud initiative.
