Flexible Voting
Flexible Voting is an extension to the widely used OpenZeppelin Governor that enables novel on-chain voting schemes for DAOs. Developed and maintained by ScopeLift, it lets delegates split their voting weight across For/Against/Abstain options, unlocking use cases like voting while earning DeFi yield, cross-L2 voting, private voting, and liquid delegation. It serves DAO governance teams and token holders looking to upgrade or launch Governor contracts.

Description
Flexible Voting is an open-source extension to the OpenZeppelin Governor contract that allows delegates to split their voting weight across For/Against/Abstain options on a given proposal. This building block enables developers to permissionlessly build arbitrary delegate contracts supporting new use cases such as voting with tokens while earning yield in DeFi, voting with tokens bridged to Layer 2, shielded (private) voting, liquid delegation and sub-delegation, subsidized signature-based voting, voting with tokens held by third-party custodians, and voting with tokens held in vesting contracts. It is developed and maintained by ScopeLift and has been adopted by noteworthy DAOs including Gitcoin, PoolTogether, and Frax Finance. Existing integrations include an Aave Flexible Voting aToken, a Compound V3 Money Market integration, and Layer 2 Flexible Voting. The project provides tutorials for existing DAOs looking to upgrade and for new DAOs launching Governor contracts with Flexible Voting.Grant Funding
