Description

The GARD Protocol offered a non-custodial solution for Algorand (ALGO) holders to unlock liquidity from their assets without selling them. By locking their ALGOs in a smart contract, users could mint GARD, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. This mechanism was particularly useful for those participating in Algorand's governance program, as it allowed them to commit their ALGOs to governance, earn rewards, and simultaneously use the minted GARD for other DeFi activities. The protocol aimed to enhance capital efficiency within the Algorand ecosystem. However, the project has been officially sunset.
