Gravity Bridge operates as a neutral bridge chain between Ethereum and Cosmos, using Interblockchain Communication (IBC) to let many different Cosmos-based projects connect and access ERC20 assets, such as DAI or USDC, without having to run their own gravity orchestrator. The protocol enables ERC20 assets to move from Ethereum into Cosmos, and Cosmos-native assets to be represented as ERC20 tokens on Ethereum, allowing assets like ATOM to trade on Uniswap and other Ethereum AMMs and interact with Ethereum DeFi like any other ERC20 token.
