Description

Hypercerts is a protocol for funding and rewarding impact. It allows funders, evaluators, and projects to get involved in a system for retroactive public goods funding. The platform enables the creation of 'hypercerts,' which are semi-fungible tokens representing claims to the impact of a project. Every hypercert accounts for a discrete piece of work and represents the impact resulting from that work. The system involves multiple stakeholders: Projects create hypercerts representing their impact, which are then assessed by credible evaluators. Funders can purchase these hypercerts to support the projects, allowing them to become financially sustainable by continuously selling their impact. This system is designed to create a new market for impact, supported by partners and backers such as Protocol Labs, Optimism, Gitcoin, and Funding the Commons.
