JournoDAO is a decentralized organization and incubator that uses Web3 technology to rebuild local news and restore trust in journalism. It focuses on building open-source, community-owned information networks that replace predatory algorithmic recommendation engines with transparent, community-controlled systems. Its core technology stack includes Seed Protocol, a decentralized open publishing framework enabling permissionless content sharing, and PermaPress, an open-source client built on Seed Protocol for secure independent publishing, alongside exploration of AI to amplify its mission. The organization serves independent journalists, media producers, and local communities, and runs educational outreach including one-to-one conversations, podcasts (PressFix, Cryptosapian), keynotes, Town Halls and weekly working sessions. It is led by a founding team of former journalists and media producers active in the blockchain and AI industries, and has partnered with organizations such as the Online News Association, Media Party, RePublic, Diamond DAO, and T2 World, with past grant support from Gitcoin, Ocean Protocol, and Livepeer.Grant Funding
