Kukai Wallet

Kukai Wallet is a non-custodial digital wallet for the Tezos blockchain that lets users manage digital assets and connect to apps and experiences on Tezos. It supports creating new wallets, importing existing wallets (keystore, seed words, or Tezos Fundraiser accounts), connecting Ledger Nano hardware wallets, and social sign-in via its DirectAuth feature. Its typical users are individual Tezos holders and delegators seeking self-custody of their tokens and NFTs.

Description

Kukai Wallet, active since 2018, is a browser-based, non-custodial wallet built for the Tezos blockchain. It enables users to create new wallets, import existing wallets from encrypted keystore files or seed phrases, activate and import Tezos Fundraiser accounts, and connect Ledger Nano hardware wallets for cold storage. The wallet also offers "DirectAuth," a feature that creates a unique Tezos wallet tied to a user's OAuth account (e.g., Google), using an open-source, non-custodial distributed key generation system powered by the Torus Network, so private keys are reconstructed client-side rather than stored by any single party. Kukai focuses on serving individual Tezos token holders, delegators/bakers, and NFT collectors who want secure, self-custodied access to their digital assets and to dApps within the Tezos ecosystem. The project provides user documentation, an open-source GitHub repository, and community support through Telegram and Twitter/X.
