Lofty Ventures operates the Lofty Ventures Syndicate, which allows Accredited Investors to invest alongside the firm in deals it has sourced and diligenced. The syndicate makes two types of investments: backing new companies joining the Lofty Portfolio, and making follow-on investments in later rounds of existing Lofty Portfolio companies. Lofty Ventures is committed to growing the Chicago tech ecosystem, directly investing in and supporting Chicago-based founders, and enabling other accredited investors to do the same alongside them. The syndicate is administered through AngelList, which creates a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to hold capital, make investments, pay out returns, and handle tax documentation for participants; Lofty Ventures is always the first check into any investment the syndicate makes. Clients/participants are Accredited Investors, including newer angel investors seeking dealflow and experienced investors seeking access to later-stage deals.
