Description

Mechanism Institute is a research organization focused on onchain mechanism design. Its work is structured around three pillars: the Mechanism Library, which maps the onchain design space across seven fundamental functions (Fundraising, Allocation, Value Capture, Rewards & Penalties, Exchange, Governance, and Data); Research, investigating how mechanisms can solve complex problems across prediction markets, public goods, governance, sybil prevention, p2p commerce, network sovereignties, and impact measurement; and Collaborations, partnering with researchers and institutions to understand and apply onchain mechanisms to new domains. Its work has been financially supported by Gitcoin and Optimism, and it actively collaborates with BlockchainGov on research and library maintenance. The organization serves researchers, institutions, and protocols interested in applying mechanism design to onchain systems.
