Monkey Kingdom is an NFT collection and community project inspired by the Chinese folk tale Journey to the West, bringing the legend of Sun Wukong to life in NFT form. Its Genesis Collection consists of 2,222 male Wukongs (Gen 1) and 2,221 female Diamond Baepes (Gen 2), 32x32 pixel algorithmically-generated NFTs originally minted on Solana in 2021 and migrated to Ethereum between February and March 2023. The project later launched Monkey Legends (Gen 3), a 10,000-piece collection of 3D, metaverse-ready avatars on Ethereum, making Monkey Kingdom one of the first cross-chain NFT projects to move from Solana to Ethereum. The organization operates a broader ecosystem including the $PEACH ERC-20 utility token (used for staking rewards, raffles, merchandise, and governance-style voting), a Genesis Club holder platform with staking and a $PEACH store, a breeding mechanic for producing Gen 3 NFTs, and expansion into Bitcoin Ordinals. Monkey Kingdom has partnered with brands and celebrities such as Adidas Originals, Ambush, Steve Aoki, Sunny Wang, and Verbal, and was featured in auctions at Sotheby's and Phillips in 2022. Its clients/users are primarily NFT collectors and holders, particularly within the Asian NFT community, who engage with its collections, token economy, and holder utilities.
