Nodle

Nodle

Nodle is a decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) network that utilizes smartphones as nodes to create a global wireless network for the Internet of Things (IoT). By leveraging Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), the network connects the physical world to Web3, enabling applications such as asset tracking, media authentication, and proof of location. Participants who contribute their device's resources to the network are rewarded with Nodle's native cryptocurrency, NODL.

Description

Nodle is a decentralized physical infrastructure (DePIN) network that creates a global, low-cost wireless network for the Internet of Things (IoT) by leveraging smartphones as 'edge nodes'. Using a 'proof of connectivity' model, participants run the Nodle SDK on their phones, which use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect to nearby smart devices and relay data, earning the native NODL token as a reward. The NODL token serves as a utility token for network services like asset tracking, a governance token for protocol upgrades, and an incentive for network participation. Originally on the Stellar network, Nodle migrated to its own Substrate-based chain before becoming a Polkadot parachain and has since expanded to zkSync Era for enhanced scalability and interoperability. The platform offers developers SDKs and programmable 'Smart Missions' to build applications, and features like transaction sponsorship to improve user onboarding.
