Ogallala Life
Ogallala Life is a nonprofit organization established in 2022 working to rehydrate the High Plains landscape across seven US states overlying the Ogallala (High Plains) Aquifer. It empowers communities sustained by the aquifer through demonstration projects, bioregional learning centers, and coordination among stakeholders to restore watersheds, wetlands, and vegetation for water security, food, and biodiversity.

Ogallala Life focuses on bioregional regeneration of the US Great Plains, patterned around the watersheds, wetlands, and surficial geology of the High Plains Aquifer System. Their work includes landscape rehydration through nature-based solutions such as in-channel structures that slow water flow, enhance infiltration, and restore vegetation, aiming to build resilient landscapes that support ecosystems, sustainable agriculture, and healthy communities. They operate demonstration projects and bioregional learning centers, including a 750-acre Bioregional Learning Center at Wildcat Bluff and landscape rehydration work along the Canadian River valley on the Kritser Ranch.
