Olympus DAO

Olympus DAO is a decentralized finance protocol that issues OHM, a treasury-backed, liquidity-enabling token on Ethereum. It pioneered Protocol Owned Liquidity and offers mechanisms like Cooler Loans, an Emissions Manager, and Convertible Deposits to manage OHM's supply, backing, and liquidity. It serves DeFi users, gOHM holders, and DAOs/treasuries seeking programmatic, community-governed money and on-chain credit.

Description

Olympus DAO operates the Olympus protocol, a decentralized financial system supporting OHM, a free-floating, treasury-backed 'smart money' token on the Ethereum network, operating since March 2021. The protocol pioneered Protocol Owned Liquidity (POL), holding dex-based liquidity (e.g., an OHM/wETH Uniswap v3 pool) and using Range Bound Stability (RBS) to algorithmically balance reserves and liquidity, ensuring OHM can be bought, sold, or borrowed against in most market conditions. Its Cooler Loans system lets gOHM holders borrow USDS from the Treasury at a fixed low interest rate with no price-based liquidations, while the Emissions Manager programmatically issues new OHM supply via Convertible Deposits auctions tied to market premium versus backing. Governance is conducted fully on-chain, empowering OHM/gOHM holders to vote on protocol upgrades, collateral management, and monetary policy through Olympus Governance (OCG) and a public forum. The DAO publishes quarterly and policy transparency reports, treasury dashboards, and numerous third-party smart contract audits, and it primarily serves DeFi users, gOHM holders, builders, and DAOs/treasuries seeking programmable, decentralized on-chain credit and liquidity.
