OVER is a decentralized infrastructure for the spatial web, merging the physical and digital worlds through Augmented Reality. It allows users to create, own, and experience interactive AR content tied to specific geographic locations. The platform is built on the Ethereum blockchain and consists of a digital layer covering the entire globe, divided into hexagonal plots called OVRLands. Users can purchase these OVRLands as NFTs and then create unique AR experiences on them using the OVER builder tools. The ecosystem is powered by the OVR token, which is used for transactions within the platform, such as buying land and assets. OVER also features a 'map-to-earn' model, rewarding users for creating 3D maps of real-world locations using their smartphone cameras, contributing to a global, user-generated 3D map. The platform targets individuals, creators, and brands looking to engage with audiences in immersive new ways.
