Proof Of Humanity

Proof of Humanity (PoH) is a decentralized, sybil-resistant registry of verified human identities built on Ethereum and secured via Kleros dispute resolution. Users submit a profile (name, photo, short video) with a deposit, receive vouches from existing registrants, and can be challenged by others if suspected of being fake, with disputes settled by Kleros jurors. The protocol is used to power self-sovereign identity logins, sybil-resistant voting/governance, fair airdrops, tamper-proof certifications, inclusive credit scoring, and bot-free social platforms for dApps and Web3 projects needing verified-human guarantees.

Description

Proof of Humanity is a decentralized, sybil-resistant list of verified humans operating on Ethereum (with a v2 registry and cross-chain "ICrossChainProofOfHumanity" contract for integrations). Individuals register by submitting identity information and a deposit; the community vouches for legitimate submissions, and suspicious profiles can be challenged, with disputes resolved by an independent panel of jurors through the Kleros Court dispute-resolution protocol (PoH was built by Kleros). The registry is designed to be integrated by third-party projects to guarantee that on-chain actions come from unique verified humans rather than bots or sybil accounts. Use cases highlighted include self-sovereign identity logins for dApps, sybil-resistant online voting and governance, fair token airdrops (including its own PNK airdrop campaign rewarding early verified humans), fraud-resistant certifications, more equitable credit scoring, and spam/bot-free social media. The project also runs a community governance layer (PoH DAO / Humanity Improvement Proposals) discussed on its governance forum, and previously administered a Universal Basic Income (UBI) token distributed to verified humans. Its ecosystem and integrations serve developers, dApps, and Web3 platforms seeking reliable, decentralized human-identity verification.
