Puffer Finance

Puffer Finance is a native liquid restaking protocol on Ethereum that lets users stake ETH to earn staking and EigenLayer restaking rewards while minting the liquid pufETH token. Beyond liquid restaking, Puffer operates UniFi, a based rollup with instant L1 withdrawals, Puffer Preconf (a preconfirmation AVS built on EigenLayer), and an institutional staking product. It serves retail stakers, permissionless home validators, and institutional allocators seeking Ethereum-native yield.

Description

Puffer Finance is building Ethereum infrastructure centered on liquid restaking and rollup technology. Its core product, the Liquid Restaking Protocol, lets users deposit ETH to earn Ethereum staking rewards plus EigenLayer restaking rewards, minting the pufETH liquid restaking token; the protocol also enables permissionless, low-cost validator operation via anti-slashing technology to help decentralize Ethereum. UniFi is Puffer's based rollup (L2) offering instant L1 withdrawals, sub-second transactions, and native yield, while Puffer Preconf is a fast, secure preconfirmation service built on EigenLayer that provides sub-second transaction confirmations for based rollups. Puffer Institutional provides enterprise-grade, customizable staking and restaking infrastructure for institutions, with dedicated smart-contract vaults, granular access control, and audited security. The protocol is governed by a DAO through the PUFFER/vlPUFFER governance token, a public governance forum, and on-chain voting/gauges. Clients range from individual ETH stakers and home validators to DeFi protocols and institutional allocators (e.g., via partnerships such as Anchorage Digital), and the project is backed by investors including Brevan Howard, Electric Capital, Lemniscap, Faction, Coinbase Ventures, Binance Labs, Franklin Templeton, and Kraken, with grant support from the Ethereum Foundation.
