Reef is a modular, self-upgradable layer 1 blockchain built with Substrate, using Nominated Proof of Stake consensus and full EVM compatibility so existing Solidity contracts can be ported from Ethereum without modification. Originally positioned as a DeFi/NFT/gaming chain, Reef has repositioned around compliance-ready infrastructure for tokenized equity and real-world assets (RWA), with native support for the ERC3643 (T-REX) standard enabling built-in KYC/AML verification and transfer restrictions for securities issuance. The ecosystem includes core products such as the Reef Web Wallet and browser extension, ReefSwap (a decentralized exchange), Reefscan (block explorer), Reef Console, Remix IDE integration, and the Sqwid NFT marketplace, along with developer tooling (JS/Python SDKs, UI kit, Hardhat plugin).
