Description

RIF, or Rootstock Infrastructure Framework, is a suite of open and decentralized infrastructure protocols built on Rootstock, the first and largest EVM-compatible Bitcoin sidechain. It is designed to expand the Bitcoin economy by providing developers with the tools to build dApps and users with access to a range of DeFi services. The RIF token is central to the ecosystem, used for governance within the RootstockCollective DAO, staking, and paying for services. Key products include the RIF Wallet (a white-label, open-source smart contract wallet), RIF Name Service (RNS) for human-readable addresses, RIF Flyover for fast bridging between Bitcoin and Rootstock, RIF Relay for paying gas fees with various tokens, and RIF Rollup for scaling. The platform also supports the USDRIF stablecoin and offers a grants program to foster ecosystem growth. RIF aims to combine Bitcoin's security with Ethereum's programmability, serving community members, developers, and institutions. The project is operated by RootstockLabs Limited.
