Description

Shadow provides tools for onchain data, enabling developers to spend less time indexing data and managing infrastructure, and more time building products. The platform allows for the creation of smart contract indexers in minutes, delivering decoded, indexed, and streamed data directly to a database without needing additional data pipelines or node infrastructure. Key features include simplified data pipelines, deeper data coverage through the generation of new events from onchain data, and faster iteration cycles. Shadow introduces an "edit mode" for any smart contract, offering precise control over event logs and view functions without impacting the mainnet. This is achieved through "shadow events," which are permissionless, gasless events logged on an offchain execution environment that mirrors the mainnet state in real-time. The platform supports multiple chains and allows data access through exports, a live feed, or a Shadow RPC, ensuring compatibility with existing web3 tooling.
