For developers, Stacks provides tools and a security-first programming language called Clarity, which has visibility into Bitcoin's state, allowing for transactions with the same finality as Bitcoin. The ecosystem supports a variety of applications, including lending protocols like Zest Protocol, digital artifact standards like STX20, and DeFi apps such as Velar and Bitflow. The platform introduces sBTC, a 1:1 Bitcoin-backed asset, to unlock BTC's capital in a decentralized manner, moving it between the Bitcoin L1 and the Stacks L2.
