Description
SCOR is building a decentralized, peer-to-peer network for programmable fandom in the multi-trillion dollar sports industry. Sports IP, such as athlete likenesses, is registered on a universal ledger with customizable usage parameters, turning it into programmable assets that can be integrated into applications on the network. Fan engagement is captured as verifiable, on-chain skill, creating a permanent, tangible record of achievement. The protocol's economy uses a deflationary, three-way allocation model: roughly a third of platform transaction value flows to a community rewards pool for fans, a third of in-app purchase tokens are permanently burned, and a third funds a treasury for protocol development and onboarding new sports IP. SCOR's roadmap starts with a flagship fan-engagement application (Phase 1), expands via an SDK for third-party developers (Phase 2), and culminates in a dedicated SCOR L1 mainnet as infrastructure for the global fan economy (Phase 3). Its ecosystem currently includes a playable fan app (fun.scor.io) and staking, and it has onboarded numerous professional athletes (largely from cricket and tennis) to seed the sports IP ledger. Users are primarily sports fans seeking to earn rewards for engagement, and sports IP holders/athletes looking to monetize their likeness.
