Description

The Ecological Benefits Framework (EBF) is described as an 'Ecological Benefit Marketplace' project developed under The Lexicon, an organization that uses evidence-based storytelling to help people understand their impact on food systems and the planet. The EBF platform explores whether building a framework for carbon markets can accelerate the response to climate change, aiming to untap the potential of blockchains to reward everyone across the value chain and to standardize reporting practices for voluntary carbon markets. As one of several initiatives ('activators') produced by The Lexicon alongside projects like Just BIPOC Sourcing, Seafood MAP, Lex Icons, REGEN1, A Greener Blue, and the Alternative Proteins platform, EBF focuses on bringing transparency and standardization to ecological benefit reporting for carbon market participants, including farmers, companies, and value-chain stakeholders.
