The Science Commons Initiative is a non-profit organization dedicated to making science more open, democratic, and beneficial to the public. It identifies, highlights, and funds technological and strategic infrastructure that helps scientists and researchers solve pressing world problems, with a particular focus on engaging the public in the scientific process. The Initiative seeks to make long-lasting changes to how science is produced and communicated. It also produces a weekly DeSci update podcast available on Captivate.FM, and engages with the decentralized science (DeSci) community, inviting collaborators and interested individuals to reach out.
