Treejer

Treejer is a blockchain-based reforestation platform that connects funders with rural planters in high-impact, less developed regions to plant and maintain trees. It uses smart contracts to record credit ownership and enable secure payments between tree funders and local planting communities.

Description

Treejer functions as a link between those who fund trees and those who plant them, even in the most remote places on the planet. It records credit ownership and enables secure payment between different parties using smart contracts, giving each tree collected or funded through Treejer a unique social and environmental impact. Rural planters in high-impact locations, mostly located in less developed countries across Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East, plant and maintain the trees. Treejer provides incentives for businesses and individuals to help stop climate change with the help of local communities, and it embraces an open-source approach, inviting developers and researchers to build, research, or design on top of the Treejer protocol.
