Description

Variational Protocol is a peer-to-peer trading protocol for on-chain derivatives covering the full trade lifecycle—booking, clearing, margin management, liquidation, and settlement. It combines on-chain smart contracts with off-chain infrastructure components including a pricing oracle, a core margin and liquidation engine, a settlement and funding rate engine, and an on-chain transaction handler. The protocol supports trading of perpetual futures, options, and custom instruments, and serves as the underlying infrastructure for applications including Omni and Pro.

Description

Variational Omni is a perpetual futures trading application built on the Variational Protocol and deployed on Arbitrum. It uses a request-for-quote mechanism where the Omni Liquidity Provider (OLP) acts as the sole counterparty to all trades, aggregating liquidity from centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges, and traditional market sources. Omni charges no trading fees, supports up to 50x leverage, and covers crypto assets, equities, and commodities. Positions are cleared and settled on-chain in isolated escrow contracts. Omni redirects value that would otherwise go to external market makers back to traders through a rewards program.

Description

Variational Pro is an on-chain derivatives trading platform under development, targeting institutions and advanced traders. Built on the Variational Protocol, it enables trading of customizable futures and options contracts—including unlisted and exotic instruments—via a request-for-quote flow. Pro automates OTC clearing, settlement, margin management, and liquidation, replacing manual coordination workflows. Traders face counterparties directly in isolated settlement pools, with configurable real-time margin parameters to mitigate counterparty risk.
