Description
VBit was a US-based Bitcoin mining company founded in 2018 that offered hosted mining packages, combining specialized Bitcoin mining hardware (e.g., Bitmain Antminer S17/S19 units) with hosting, maintenance, and power services so customers without technical mining expertise could participate in cryptocurrency mining. At its peak the company operated tens of thousands of miners across data centers in the United States, Canada, and Kazakhstan, and claimed to have helped clients mine over $100M in bitcoin. VBit Technologies was acquired by Advanced Mining Group in a reported $105M deal announced January 31, 2022. The company later faced regulatory action, including a California DFPI desist-and-refrain order and SEC fraud allegations against its founder, and ceased US operations in 2022.
