Description
WITNESS Protocol is a system for creating and issuing digital ownership assets such as tokens, NFTs, and attestations without incurring transaction fees. The protocol allows any data that can be hashed to be "Witnessed," meaning it is recorded off-chain but remains trustlessly verifiable on-chain. This process involves creating data, checkpointing it, and then allowing anyone to retrieve and verify its integrity against the underlying blockchain, ensuring it hasn't been tampered with. The protocol is designed for developers, offering a Typescript SDK and OpenAPI specification for easy integration. It supports on-chain composability, enabling developers to build applications like ERC721 tokens that can mint assets based on Witnessed data, thus bridging off-chain provenance with on-chain smart contracts.Grant Funding
