Description

Pathways to Possibilities (P2P) is Zlto's latest project, aiming to take 1,000 unemployed young people across South Africa through a curated Learn to Earn skills development journey covering Tech, Green Economy, and Micro Entrepreneurship. In the 'Learn' phase, 200 unemployed youth per cohort are recruited into a structured learning program designed to help them meet criteria for further earning opportunities offered by youth agencies. In the 'Earn' phase, participants complete training modules and related activities, which are documented and verified on the Zlto platform, allowing them to earn between R350 and R750 per month in Zlto rewards — testing whether youth can be incentivised to learn and earn more than South Africa's R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant. In the 'Redeem' phase, the Zlto rewards earned are ring-fenced for redemption with Zlto vendors for essentials such as airtime, data, electricity, groceries, clothing, transportation, and food, helping youth become co-contributors to their households while relieving reliance on the SRD Grant. The program serves unemployed young people in South Africa seeking skills development and income alternatives.
