Zorp

Zorp is a for-profit blockchain research and development company that created the Nock zero-knowledge virtual machine (ZKVM) and developed the initial version of the Nockchain protocol, a zero-knowledge proof-of-work (zkPoW) Layer 1 blockchain. The company mines and holds $NOCK as a treasury strategy while building revenue-generating products, including a native decentralized exchange, for the Nockchain ecosystem.

Description

Zorp Corp was incorporated in Delaware in 2022, beginning as a research lab focused on Nock zero-knowledge proofs before raising a pre-seed round (~$2.5M) and a $5M seed round to build a zero-knowledge virtual machine (ZKVM) and launch a fair-mined proof-of-work blockchain. On May 21, 2025, Zorp's research culminated in the mainnet launch of Nockchain, a zkPoW Layer 1 with a hard-capped, immutable $NOCK supply and no pre-mine, combining Bitcoin-style sound money with modern research into scalability, programmability, data availability, and app-rollups. Zorp mines $NOCK directly and has at times licensed proprietary mining software to partners to help bootstrap network security. As the network matures, Zorp intends to shift toward building protocols and applications atop Nockchain, starting with a native decentralized exchange, positioning itself as a treasury company that also builds real-world, revenue-generating products for the Nockchain ecosystem, its developers, and its mining community.
