Ajna Labs was founded in 2021 by a globally distributed team of decentralized finance experts. The team built the Ajna Protocol, a fully automated, permissionless lending and borrowing system that operates without token whitelists, external price feeds, or ongoing governance, allowing anyone to create a lending market using fungible (ERC-20) or non-fungible (ERC-721) assets as collateral. Once launched, the protocol is designed to run autonomously without further maintenance by the team. Access to the protocol is provided through third-party front ends such as Ajnafi.com and Arb Capital, and the organization also offers developer resources including an SDK, whitepaper, documentation, and an ajna-skills package that lets AI agents inspect Ajna pools and prepare protocol actions. Ajna Labs also runs a quarterly grant coordination mechanism to fund ecosystem participants.
